A Few From My Piano Repertoire

Un Sospiro

Franz Liszt

An Etude of Virtuosity - Franz Liszt composed this as a part of Three Concert Etudes (S 144) between 1845 and 1849. These etudes (studies/exercises) build technical capability and include such nuances that make them absolutely delightful performance pieces.
Un Sospiro means 'A Sigh' - includes seemingly simple arpeggios - but so delecately bring out the essense of what Franz Liszt was aiming to achieve.

Prelude And Fugue No 8

Johann Sebastian Bach

The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I BWV 853

The beautiful ornamentation and the wonderful poliphonic lines dominate this prelude and fugue. This is set to Eb minor, a rather unusual key for the Baroque period, but given what Bach was after (to compose 48 pieces in all 24 keys) this had to be done. And as with the rest of the pieces, from the Well tempered clavier another masterpice from master of polyphony.

Ballade No 2 Op 38

Frédéric Chopin

The 2nd of the 4 Ballades that Chopin composed which he completed in 1838. Chopin had dedicated this ballade to Schumann.

This is a very sensitive and a highly narrative piece. Moving from a calming sotto voce moving into a Presto con fuoco (very fast with fire) and returning to the original tempo only to enter an agitated agitato. Its an emotional roller coaster.

I Saw Three Ships

An arrangement by The Piano Guys

23 Dec 2022

A Christmas special from me. This is a piano instrumental arrangement of the famous traditional Christmas Carol. Hope you enjoy it.

Grande Valse Brilliante

Frédéric Chopin

2 Oct 2021

A beautiful Waltz in E-flat major, Op. 18. Recorded right around the time the Chopin International competition is underway. As I watch the brilliant contestants, I'm moved and inspired to learn more Chopin pieces. Here is my humble attempt at this wonderful Waltz.

Grande Sonate Pathétique

L. V Beethoven

2 May 2021

I dedicate this one to all those who are impacted by the ongoing pandemic especially in my country (India) where we were reeling under a massive health emergency. What a better sonata than this can bring out our emotions at the devastation brought out by this deadly virus.

I recorded this during my early days of me learning this sonata. Not what I wanted it to sound like at that point in time. I hope to record this again.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3rd Movement

Based on Jarrod Radnich's Piano Solo.

17 Oct 2020

I attempted this virtuosoic version of the 3rd movement. It did take me a while to learn and record this one.

Formula 1 Theme on Piano

Brian Tyler

30 Jun 2020

For the love of Formula 1 and dedicated to my F1 idol - Lewis Hamilton. My take on the F1 theme with a twist :)

Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement

L. V Beethoven

26 Apr 2020

The first movement from Piano Sonata no 14. Learnt this  when I learnt about the positive effects of this piece on improving concentration for the listener.
